Spanning more than 25 years, Martin King’s career has focused on photographing architecture, interior design, and lifestyle products. Known for his beautiful compositions and lighting, his images are crafted to the highest possible standards.
Formal training as a photographer came about through the intensive photography program at the prestigious Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, but the interest in all things design related goes back as far as middle school where he would pour over magazines like House Beautiful, Architectural Digest, and Yachting. The photography there offered tantalizing glimpses into what seemed like a dream world. A visit by architectural photographer Julius Shulman to the Art Center campus while he was a student there helped to narrow his focus and to shape his career path.
Translating a 3 dimensional world into a 2 dimensional medium is the job of a professional photographer. Using lighting to carve out the 3rd dimension as efficiently as possible is a skill honed over years. With his array of skills, equipment, and crew he is able to provide his clients unique and often unprecedented results using approaches that other professionals rarely consider or attempt..
